Rondebosch is one of Cape Town's most regarded expanses situated in the affluent Southern suburbs. The area which is now known as Rondebosch was founded around the year 1652. However, the location really took shape in the year 1657, when four people who were apart of the Dutch East India Company were granted free burgher (free citizen) status. The area grew exponentially after this.

This particular part of Cape Town is well connected through various modes of transportation including the MyCiti municipal buses, minivan taxi service, golden arrow bus service and the MetroRail Train service.

Rondebosch is rising in prominence as a great commercial area for so many reasons. One of the reasons is also because there are so many great areas in which to shop. Some of the more popular shopping centres include Riverside Mall, Rondebosch Main Shopping Centre, Dean Street Arcade, Silwood Centre, Willowood Shopping Centre, Newlands Quarter, Cavendish Square, and Stadium on the main centre.
