The Parow area has a long history within the context of the greater Western Cape region. Legend has it that the area was developed around a massive storm that took place in 1865, involving 19 shipwrecks, one of the victims was Captain Johann Heinrich Ferdinand Parow who decided to settle in the region making what today is known as Parow his home in the Cape of Good Hope. The area has grown exponentially since those early days and now is a large urban expanse with numerous suburbs throughout the Northern Suburban region of Cape Town. The area is also within close proximity to another popular commercial, residential and industrial areas such as Bellville, Durbanville, and Milnerton.

Parow is well situated in proximity to the Cape Town International Airport and it’s said to be 8.3km away and a 14-minute drive depending on route or traffic, one can reach the airport from Parow via the M12. From the central business district of Cape Town to Parow, is said to be roughly 16km depending on which route and will take roughly 40 minutes travel time.

Transport

The Northern suburban areas of Cape Town are well connected via the extensive MetroRail service. There is a MetroRail station in Parow, one can also utilize the Golden Arrow bus service as well as the minivan taxi services that run all over the Western Cape region.
